Violence and trauma in the workplace is being reported
in the media at alarming rates. These days, it seems that no workplace
is immune. Critical incidents range from bank robbery, work site accidents,
earthquakes, lay-offs, and other traumatic events which tax an employee's
ability to cope. Employers are taking responsibility for providing assistance
and support to employees who experience such events as they see these events
as outside the normal scope of the employee's job. These critical incidents
can cause emotional and physical reactions for the affected individuals
as well as their entire work group. In order to minimize these reactions,
CISD is offered.
David Reed & Associates' team of CISD professionals are experienced
in assisting your employees and company to stabilize following
a critical incident. While each situation is unique, individualized assessment
is required. It is often best to provide intervention for the employees,
as a group, and follow-up services for those individuals who require more
care. Obviously, the greater the traumatic event, the more help the employees
will require. David Reed & Associates would like to develop a partnership
with your company before an incident occurs. Prevention and planning are
key components for a business resumption plan.
